Summer Born and Premature Children Starting School

Tonight I will be holding an adjournment debate in the House of Commons on allowing summer born and premature children to defer their start to school. I wanted to raise this issue with the Minister as it has been a problem a few constituents have faced.

Circle Housing Report Findings

Circle Housing (CHMP) is the major social housing agency in Wimbledon and Merton, and a recent investigation has found that their repair contractor has to repay £170,000 for overcharging.

Good news for longer trains at Wimbledon

I welcome the significant step forward in my campaign for longer rush-hour trains at Wimbledon, following confirmation of work to extend the platforms at Waterloo station.

K5 Bus Route Petition

Last Saturday I was in West Barnes getting signatures for a petition with Cllrs Brian and Gilli Lewis-Lavender for a more frequent K5 bus. We had a fantastic response.

Wimbledon youth football grants

I’m delighted that the Football Foundation have awarded Merton Youth FC and AFC Wimbledon Girls (youth) a grant of £1,500 each and £3,000 to Motspur Park Youth FC.

Welcome my latest community update containing news on the Budget, the Airports Commission’s report and the Tramlink Upgrade at Wimbledon station. 

Wimbledon Tramlink Upgrade

You may have noticed that construction work has begun at the Tramlink platform at Wimbledon Station, meaning there will be no Trams between Wimbledon and Dundonald Road until the end of October. This work is to build an additional platform at Wimbledon, which will allow trams to arrive and depart Wimbledon more often, boosting their frequency from eight to 12 trams per hour.
