Stephen Hammond successfully secured funding for the upgrade of Motspur Park Station facilities, a new footbridge and most importantly lift access to the platform in 2020 and we are delighted to report that our Step-Free Access Campaign is progressing with building preparations being made in the next few days.

Stephen and the 'Love West Barnes' team, especially former councillors Gilli and Brian Lewis-Lavender campaigned since 2006 alongside Stephen to get agreement from South West Trains (as it was then named), Network Rail and finally the Chancellor announced funding in his budget of March 2020.

Local residents have been sent a letter by Network Rail detailing the timings of the project, including some temporary road closures and different pedestrian access arrangements while the work is ongoing.

Details of the project can be found by clicking here.

This is a very exciting development and will benefit West Barnes residents enormously.
