Boundary Changes: Wimbledon Residents’ Victory

The final Boundary Commission proposals have been published today. I am delighted to say that in Wimbledon there has been no change from the revised proposals from October last year.

Thameslink Disruption Update

I recently met with Thameslink to discuss the recent timetable changes and the disruption caused to commuters.

Merton High Street/South Wimbledon Gas Works

The gas network in the Merton High Street area of South Wimbledon is being upgraded. 

This is part of a £418,000 investment to replace the old gas mains and services with new plastic pipe. 

Brexit - this week's votes

Yesterday with a heavy heart I pushed my New Clause 18 to the Trade Bill to a vote. This is a decision I agonised over and took no pleasure in making. My amendment did not pass, but I will continue to represent my constituents by fighting to protect jobs and the economy.

Westminster Hall Debate: Post Brexit Customs

Yesterday I led a debate on post-Brexit customs arrangements. We must ensure we protect jobs and businesses, avoid a hard border in Ireland, and reflect the realities at our ports.

Ride London - Sunday 29th July

On Sunday 29th July the Ride London Cycle event will be passing through Wimbledon again.

This will mean large parts of Wimbledon Hill Road, Worple Road, Coombe Lane and Wimbledon Village will be effectively closed from 7am-7pm.
