Wimbledon Chase Station - Development Proposals

I am aware of a great deal of local concern surrounding the proposals for a nine-storey residential block next to Wimbledon Chase Station. Equally I have been aware of some local support for the application.

Summer-Born

I have been campaigning on the need to allow summer-born children’s parents the right to defer their school start if that was appropriate for the child. After several meetings the then Minister wrote to local education authorities issuing a change of guidance .

Wimbledon Bridge Delivery Scooters Update

I have received many complaints over the last year about the number of delivery scooters and the behaviour of some of the drivers on Wimbledon Bridge.

Residents Associations and the AELTC

I recently met with several of the local Resident’s Associations in Wimbledon to discuss their opposition to the development of Wimbledon Park by the All England Lawn Tennis Club. Please find below a information about their stances, which I support.

Rwanda Refugee Scheme

Many constituents have contacted me about the Government’s proposed policy to send individual male asylum seekers over 18, who arrive in the UK illegally, to Rwanda.

I have expressed my serious misgivings about this policy in my statement below.

RMT Strike Action - 21st/23rd/25th June

I am angered and disappointed that so many of my constituents will be inconvenienced by this wholly unnecessary strike. Even at this late stage, I urge the RMT to sit down with employers, call off the strike, and find a solution.

Friday in Wimbledon

The Publication of the Sue Gray Report

The Sue Gray Report was published yesterday. Its conclusions were damning for the Prime Minister, the Civil Service, and were critical of the activities and culture that existed in Number 10 whilst the rest of the country followed the Covid guidelines.
